Audun is Program Lead at Energy Lab, Australia's largest provider of accelerator programs for climate tech startups. EnergyLab offers a range of programs supporting founders from ideation, to launch and scale, securing investment, and going international.

Catherine Kerr

Manager - Adaptation Knowledge Climate Adaptation, Land Sector and Opportunity

Catherine Kerr is a Coastal Engineer, Science Communicator and Emergent Strategist. She currently leads the Adaptation Knowledge team within NSW DCCEEW to design products, services and experiences that assist NSW to understand climate risk and adapt to climate change. She believes that we need to address the underlying, systemic ways in which humans view their relationship with the natural world and organise ourselves on this planet. In response to this core belief, she is focussed on Transformational Adaptation - climate adaptation in which we collectively re-design systems, integrate emissions reduction, nature and sustainability to re-imagine and create the future we all deserve.

Elena Klonsky

Investor

Elena Klonsky is on the investment team at ReGen Ventures, a global early-stage fund backing transformative technologies to regenerate planetary systems. She holds degrees in Environmental Economics from UC Berkeley and Climate Science from Columbia University, driven by a deep interest in how human systems can align with the logic of nature and the physical world. After leaving New York three years, she landed in Byron Bay and joined the ReGen team. She now spends her days learning from and supporting founders building mind-blowing technology stacks powered by nature and frontier science.

Mitra Ardron
Natural Innovation
serial climate-tech entrepreneur

Mitra is a serial climate-tech entrepreneur, passionate about scaling solutions to all the Sustainable Development Goals.  Projects included what was Australia’s fastest growing Solar Company (based in Byron); and Lumeter Networks, a Pay-As-You-Go payment technology used for rural solar systems across Africa that was sold in 2017.  Mitra now focuses on mentoring early stage innovation driven social entrepreneurs, mostly in SE Asia including water treatment (Bangladesh); Ag-tech (Philippines); Black Soldier Fly (Indonesia) and Circular Textiles (Indonesia).

Mayor Sarah Ndiaye

Mayor of Byron Shire

Sarah Ndiaye is the Mayor of Byron Shire, a long-time local, journalist, and high school teacher. First elected to Council in 2016 and Mayor since 2024, she champions affordable housing, climate action, and infrastructure that supports community resilience. Sarah is committed to strong, inclusive leadership that protects Byron’s people and environment.
